Thermal Imaging Cameras
Thanks to the generous support of Central Bedfordshire Council and Ampthill Town Council, SHARE: Flitwick and Ampthill now have two FLIR thermal imaging cameras to share with the community.
Thermal imaging cameras can be used to identify areas in your home where heat is leaking out – helping you to keep your home warmer by draught-proofing and/or adding extra insulation where needed. This may also help to save on energy costs. Thermal imaging cameras are ideally used when there is at least a 10 degree difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures and you will need a smart phone in order to use the FLIR cameras that we have to loan.
We are operating a waiting list, so if you would like to borrow a camera for a few days then please fill in this form and we will contact you when one becomes available.
If you do not have a smart phone and/or would like some help to use the thermal imaging camera then please contact Greensand Community Energy as a Community Energy Champion may be able to offer free help with the thermal imaging camera as well as with any issues in your home such as feeling cold, high bills or problems with damp, if applicable.
